SASOL GOLDEN KEY EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Purpose

The purpose of this programme is to recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of Golden Key members in South Africa.

Awards

8 winners (1 in each category) will each receive a R10 000 award and a certificate. The winners will be announced at the Golden Key SA Conference 2008 (20 September 2008, Potchefstroom).

The Awards are cash-based and will be paid directly to the winner as soon as proof of registration for 2009 is received. If proof of registration is not received by 15 March 2009, the award will be forfeited and passed on to the 2nd place winner in the same category.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Sasol Golden Key Excellence Awards, the applicant must:

  1. be a member of Golden Key International Honour Society;
  2. be enrolled in a full-time degree course at a University in South Africa
  3. be in his/her final year of his/her first degree
  4. complete the on-line form and, if selected, submit all required application materials
  5. plan to continue post-graduate studies in 2009
  6. be a South African citizen

Adjudication Criteria

The applications will be judged by a panel.

The following set of criteria will apply in all rounds:

  • 25% - Leadership Excellence: Demonstrated leadership on and/or off campus
  • 25% - Service Excellence: Involvement in community service initiatives
  • 50% - Academic Excellence: Sustained academic achievement

Application Process

There will be two rounds.

ROUND 1
All eligible members will complete the on-line application.
Deadline: 30 May 2008


ROUND 2
Selected candidates will be invited to submit supporting documents.
Deadline: 30 June 2008
