The Golden Key Society of the Rhodes University Chapter has collectively focused their interest to running a ‘Love Reading Club’ in D.D Siwisa Primary School, Grahamstown, Extension 6. For it is not the creativity and innovation that necessarily makes a progressive change, but it is the perpetual effort put into existing dreams that constitute success. The 2011 ‘Love Reading Club’ commenced in our second term of study being a divide of two groups, a group club orientators committed to improving Xhosa reading skills, and a group specialising in English reading skills. The project is gradually becoming effective, and we hope these little leaps are leading us toward achieving our goal of D.D Siwisa pupils being literate and bestowing a passion for literature and comprehension. English pupils under the program are an estimate of 60; pupils constituting the Xhosa group are an estimate of 25.
