Investec

Opportunities for 2011 and 2012

CA Programme Intake - Applications close: 31 March 2011

Investec’s unique Chartered Accountant (CA) programme provides an amazing opportunity for trainee accountants to embark on their chosen careers in financial management and banking. This programme aims to attract talented students and to develop them over the course of a three year training contract with the ultimate goal of retaining the highest quality trainees as full-time employees. The programme’s learning philosophy focuses on ensuring that trainees are provided with a tailor-made programme to assist them in becoming CA (SA)s as well as giving them a unique understanding of our business.

During the training contract, trainees rotate to a different business unit within the bank every six months to ensure appropriate practical experience in a banking environment in line with SAICA’s requirements. Experience is obtained through on-the-job training and educational simulations. Trainees have six month rotations within the bank’s various business units, including an external secondment at Investec’s London or Sydney office.

In addition, Investec hosts annual vacation programmes which allow students from across the country to gain exposure to the world of finance and insight into the Investec CA programme. This unique internship opportunity enables students to leverage theoretical knowledge in a practical learning scenario within Investec’s unique culture.
