Golden Key International Honour Society recognises the most gifted students on campuses around the world.  Active Golden Key members are leaders in academics, on campus and in the community.  The Society has designed an award to honour these students for their visionary leadership.

The Regional Student Leader of the Year Award is designed to recognise one talented Golden Key member per region for outstanding commitment to Golden Key, as well as for campus and community leadership and academic achievement.

Each recipient of a Regional Student Leader of the Year Award will receive a R5 000.00 cheque, a certificate and the opportunity to be considered for the prestigious International Student Leader of the Year Award in 2012 which will be announced at the 2012 International Summit.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be an active Golden Key member with a chapter in good standing;
• Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate/graduate programme for the academic year 2011;
• Submit all required application materials to the SA Office by 30 September 2011.

Criteria
Academic achievement, impact of Golden Key leadership, as determined by the selection committee, and involvement in community engagement service projects and extracurricular activities.

·         Winner Announcement
The Golden Key Student Leader of the Year 2011 South African Award Winner will be announced at the South African Summit Gala Evening on 8 October hosted by the University of the Free State, Centenary Building.  

All applicants will be informed of the status of their application on Monday, 3 October 2011.
