The CIMA Global Business Challenge, which is being held in partnership with Barclays, globally - and with ABSA in South Africa - is an international business management competition designed to bring out the best in potential, young business leaders. It provides students with a great opportunity to test the depth of their financial knowledge, gain global exposure and expand upon their competitive ability.
Why does CIMA host the GBC?
CIMA is the world's leading and largest professional body of management accountants (183,000 members and students in 168 countries) and represents some of the highest flying business professionals internationally.
Who can apply?
The competition is open to full time undergraduates and postgraduates of public and private colleges and universities ideally, from a business or finance background. The CIMA GBC is increasing in global reach and popularity - this year a total of 22 global regions will compete. South Africa has taken part in the past three years (2009, 2010 and 2011) and our teams have performed well.

Teams must be composed of four members and must register here . The team will be expected to analyse, report and present on a CIMA case study. The winning team from each region will win the chance to compete in the global final in Sri Lanka, representing their region and institution.
